Vaccines

The India vaccination schedule, in plain language.

An India NIS-aligned schedule you can read at a glance — what is due, and roughly when, from birth through the toddler years. Public, Hindi-mirrored, and shareable with a grandparent by SMS.

How to read this

A guide, not a prescription

This page is here so a tired guardian can see the shape of the early visits — which doses come at birth, at six weeks, around the first birthday — without digging through a leaflet. It is written to be readable, in English and Hindi.

It is guidance, not medical advice. Your doctor or ANM gives the binding schedule for your child and your state, and may adjust it. Always go by what they say. If you are unsure, that is exactly the moment to ask them.

The early visits, age by age

An illustrative schedule to show the shape of the early years. Your state and your doctor set the actual dates — keep your child's card handy and confirm at each visit.

At birth
BCG · OPV-0 · Hepatitis B-0
Given in the first days, usually before you leave the hospital.
6 weeks
OPV-1 · Pentavalent-1 · Rotavirus-1 · PCV-1 · fIPV-1
The first big visit. A few doses together — a small fever after is common and passes.
10 weeks
OPV-2 · Pentavalent-2 · Rotavirus-2
A repeat of the same doses to build protection step by step.
14 weeks
OPV-3 · Pentavalent-3 · Rotavirus-3 · PCV-2 · fIPV-2
The last of the early three-visit series.
9–12 months
Measles-Rubella-1 · JE-1 · PCV-Booster · Vitamin A-1
Around the first birthday. Vitamin A continues at later visits too.
16–24 months
Measles-Rubella-2 · JE-2 · DPT-Booster-1 · OPV-Booster
The toddler boosters. Keep the card handy for the next visit.

About the schedule

Treat it as a readable guide, not the binding list. The doses and timing here follow the India NIS shape, but your doctor or ANM sets the real schedule for your child and your state. Go by their card and their advice.
